Forget stress. It’s boredom that drives us to chocolate.
Bored office workers reach for indulgences such as chocolate and coffee to get through uninspiring work days, and happy hour cocktails to recover from unchallenging tasks, report occupational psychologists. About a quarter of staffers suffer chronic boredom, according to data presented at the Conference of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Occupational Psychology, and their coping tools aren’t coming out of the water cooler.
